It’s almost festival season, and coming out of pandemic-mode, you might find yourself feeling adventurous. Luckily, event organizers are ready to cater to your desires for the ultimate party. Whether it’s a short and unforgettable weekend with world-class acts, or a week-long paradisal experience with its own fully immersive culture, this list of the 20 best European festivals will help you start your travel plans in 2022!

1. Tomorrowland

Date: July 15th-31st | 3 Weekends | Location: Belgium


Tomorrowland is on the bucket list of every self-respectable dance music lover. Located the Flanders, Belgium town of Boom, and featuring world-class EDM acts, Tomorrowland offers a next-world experience. Walking through the crowds, you’re met with fantasy costumes, a private village called Dream Ville, and extraordinary firework shows that baffle social media every year.

The FOMO is strong with this one, sparkling across envious Instagram feeds. Each year, Tomorrowland strives to bring not only a beautiful event but a beautiful scrapbook of human experiences throughout the years.

Nestled in a wide-open, bowl-shaped valley of grass, and creating a natural auditorium for one of the world’s biggest music festivals, Tomorrowland holds about 400,000 people. Imagine you, there, among the lights, chants, and music.

Transactions within the festival operate on a native currency they call Pearls, which is a welcome option. Tomorrowland is a festival that sees visitors from over 200 countries. It’s nice to use the same currency in this small utopian environment they have been successfully fostering since August 2005

Tomorrowland tickets can be purchased by first making a Tomorrowland Account. This is where you can also purchase your Pearls currency for the festival. Remember: Tomorrowland tickets sell out in just minutes, so be ready!

As of February 9th, it’s unclear if Covid-19 regulations will be applied, but the team is keeping a close eye on local regulations in Belgium.

2. Glastonbury

Dates: June 22nd - 26th|Location: England

Glastonbury Festival is a five-day festival that takes place in the town of Pilton, in Somerset, England. A farm showcasing a wide variety of talent from dance music, performing arts, cabaret, theater, comedy, and even a circus! Featuring all forms of art and music, Glastonbury is famous for its hollowed Pyramid Stage, whichhas seen performances from extraordinary headlining acts. This year the festival will be featuring Billie Eillish.

Glastonbury festival has been proudly performing since 1970 (coincidentally, the day after legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix died). The first-ever Glastonbury festival admission cost was £1 admission and included free milk from the farm at that time.

3. Mad Cool Festival

Mad Cool Festival, located in Madrid, is a rock and indie music festival hosting over 240,000 attendees. As Spain’s premier rock festival, Mad Cool has something for everyone and is known to have a similar vibe as Glastonbury (appreciative of alternative-but-rocking acts) but slightly more affordable, and in the beautiful and vibrant city of Madrid.


4. Amsterdam Music Festival

Date: October 22nd | Location: Netherlands

Amsterdam Music Festival is a multiple-day EDM event in one of the EDM capitals of the Netherlands, and the world. It takes place during the Amsterdam Dance Event, a yearly educational gathering of international music professionals across the dance industry. The AMF is where these business professionals party. Making these movers and shakers come to life with inspiration every year.

During the AMF, the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs are announced and prizes are awarded, among which the next titleholder for “number one DJ in the world” is announced.

5. Afro Nation Portugal

Dates: July 1st-4th 2022 | Location: Portugal

With an average temperature of 25 degrees in July… why not go to Portugal? The warm and welcoming port town of Portimão hosts The Afro Nation Festival, featuring that alluring Portuguese ambiance and offering plenty to do during your experience, all on the golden sand beaches of Praia da Rocha.

6. All Points East

Date: August 19th- August 28th 2022 | Location: London

All Points East Festival is an annual music festival held over two weekends in London’s Victoria Park, and hosting upwards of 40,000 visitors. This festival debuted in 2018 by headlining EDM pioneers Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons of the Chemical Brothers. Though they have only had a few short years of non-pandemic events, they did win two awards for their excellent production, including Line-Up of the Year at the UK Festival Awards in 2018, and for Best Festival at the Music Week Awards in 2019.

This year, they are BACK after one canceled year, and one digital year to bring you this year’s lineup, featuring Gorillaz, The Chemical Brothers, Kraftwerk, The National, Disclosure, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds to name just a few.

7. Rolling Loud Portugal

Dates: July 6th-8th | Location: Portugal

Rolling Loud has been called one of the most influential brands in the rap industry and the world’s largest hip-hop festival. Rolling Loud is indeed loudly rolling out of the US and into the sandy beaches of Portugal.

8. Isle of Wight Festival

Date: June 16th — 19th 2022 | Location: England

Isle of Wight Festival British music festival takes place annually in Newport on the Isle of Wight, England.

Originally a counterculture event held in 1968-1970, and revived in 2002. Isle of Wight has hosted truly historical music acts such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, Amy Winehouse, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, The Sex Pistols, and many more.

It’s the first major festival in the UK summer calendar every year, and a sure one not to miss by fans of influential musicians. Tickets can be found here for 2022.

9. Primavera Sound

June 2nd — 12th 2022 | Location: Spain

Primavera Sound is an annual music festival held in Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona, Spain, and is one of the largest and most attended music festivals in Europe. Primavera features stages and venues located both indoors and outdoors throughout Barcelona.

10. cinch presents TRNSMT Festival

Date: July 8th-10th | Location: Scotland

TRNSMT Festival, the annual three-day music event in Scotland, will see a range of acts performing on the stages of Glasgow Green, including Paolo Nutini and Nile Rodgers & Chic kicking off the festival on Friday, before The Strokes, Foals, Self Esteem, and Maximo Park continue headlining for the rest of the weekend, as reported by The Scotsman.

11. Bilbao BBK Live

Date: July 12th -14th 2022 |Location: Spain

Bilbao BBK Live is a rock and pop music festival that takes place in the city of Bilbao, Spain.

The festival itself is held in a special complex built specifically for the event, on the striking slopes of Mount Cobetas. The festival was nominated for "Best Foreign Festival" at the UK Festival Awards in 2010 and 2011.

12. AiaSound Festival

Date: August 11th-13th 2022 | Denmark

AiaSound Festival takes the pulsating energy from the streets of Copenhagen and lets it unfold on the legendary scenic concert venue at Tiøren. The festival’s focus is to create an urban environment where mainstream music with an international cut, gastronomic experiences, and a sense of community merge into a higher connection. One of the festival’s main ambitions to become the most sustainable music event in the Nordic region. This year, in partnership with AiaSound, VINCI worked on the production of an NFT release that allowed them to handle ticketing and event access in innovative and sustainable ways via Web3 technology, connecting fans and artists in ways that very few other festivals have attempted.

AiaSound conceived itself through the pandemonium of 2021, and this year will be its first chance to offer the experience in Copenhagen without restrictions, and offering each capable of holding over 20,000 happy festival-goers.

Headliners include Steve Aoki, Becky Hill, Tyga, Tobias Rahim, Tiësto, and more.

13. Hideout

Date: July 3rd-7th 2022 | Location: Croatia

The Hideout Festival is a 5-day festival of boat parties, pool parties, beach vibes, and five open-air venues on the island of Pag, Croatia. Imagine the sand, the sun, and the sounds of one of the world’s most hard-hitting yet laid-back festivals in Europe.

14. Outlook Origins Festival

Outlook Origins is located in one of Europe’s best-loved festival sites: The Garden Resort in Tisno, Croatia. This year, it’s taking place from July 28 to August 2.

Sitting in its own private bay, the garden hosts an amazing beachfront with daytime sessions, boat parties, and three wicked stages taking the party deep into the night.

And if the draw of an amazing music festival isn’t enough, just down the road there’s Barbarellas, for those seeking after-parties and sunrise sessions.

15. NOS Alive

Dates: July 6th — 9th 2022 | Location: Portugal


NOS Alive is a music and arts festival that takes place at the Algés riverside, in Oeiras, Portugal. This year will be hosting Metallica, Imagine Dragons, Royal Blood, and more! Featuring well-known rock and pop acts, NOS Alive is bound to blow you away with its hard-hitting sound and crowd.

16. MEO Sudoeste

Dates: August 3rd-7th | Location: Portugal

Would you and your crew enjoy 9 days of camping on the southwest coast of Portugal?

Meo Sudeste (which began as a dedicated rock festival) has featured iconic acts such as Marilyn Manson, The Cure, Björk, Snoop Dogg, and even Yeezy. This year features Major Lazer, Timmy Trumpet, Lewis Capaldi, Giulia Be, and many more!

Their lineup announcement ad is pure. It’s hard to not want to go there and and get lost dancing with old Portuguese shepherds and their sheep, having an idyllic time while hearing this year’s lineup. We wholeheartedly recommend it.

17. Parklife

June 11th — 12th 2022 | England

Parklife Festival, located in Manchester, England, had us blown away with not only its line-up, but its breathtaking graphics. Its website design and graphic art also reflect the organization’s keen eye for everything art.

This festival has an 80,000-person capacity and takes place in North Manchester in the grassy Heaton Park. This year’s headlining acts include Tyler The Creator, Megan Thee Stallion, 50 Cent, and Lewis Capaldi to name a few!

18. Sziget Festival

August 10th — 16th 2022 | Hungary

Come to Budapest this summer for a week-long festival full of music and culture. Founded in 199, Sziget Festival has increasingly gained a reputation as a European alternative to Burning Man, due to its unique amusement park-like features and grand demonstrations of art. It’s ranked one of the 5 best festivals in Europe by The Independent.

This year will be headlining the Arctic Monkeys, Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Kings Of Leon, Tame Impala to name just a few. See more information here.

19. Wireless Festival

July 1st 2022| England

The Wireless Festival is a rap music festival that takes place in London, England. With 7 headliners, over a 2 weekend span, and in 3 locations, this year promises an extraordinary lineup featuring A.S.A.P Rocky, Tyler The Creator, and J. Cole to name a few. 20. Reading & Leeds Festivals

The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The two events take place simultaneously on an August long weekend, and the two towns work together to provide an unforgettable experience in their area.

The Reading Festival is held at Little John’s Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, while the Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, at the grounds of a historic estate. Campsites are available at both sites and weekend tickets include camping.

The Reading Festival, the older of the two festivals, is the world’s oldest popular music festival still in existence. Originally a National Jazz Festival in 1955, the festivals are now operated by Festival Republic, and present a rugged country-town branding. But don’t let the old-timey vibe fool you. While these festivals boast a muddy appearance, the acts are big and shiny. Its festival stages this year will be graced by Rage Against The Machine, Megan Thee Stallion, Arctic Monkeys, Bastille, Maneskin, Halsey, and more.
